I've been trying to decide what direction I want this blog to take. I started it initially, as a place I could try out writing. But this blog is nearly three years old and as I now have a blog running alongside my Life Coaching site and am co-hosting a fiction blog, two of my primary interests have other outlets. That left me with book reviewing and the odd opinion piece. So, when I saw a weekly writing challenge, I signed up on a whim at the last minute.
And the last time I did that, it worked out ever so well. Unfortunately this one hasn't been the same. I've had no trouble writing the weekly essays, but I feel they're fodder for a personal journal, not for the world at large. After all, a blog isn't intended to simply be a forum for me to vent, it should offer some form of entertainment or education to readers. So after a few short weeks, I've bowed out and returned to my preparations for that favourite - April's A-Z Challenge.
And that's when I realised it had all been a bit quiet. Hopping over to their site, I was relieved to discover that it wasn't just me who'd been wondering when we'd see renewed activity over at A-Z Challenge HQ. But now we have. There's a promise of a Big Announcement too ... On 6th February the waiting will be over and we'll find out. For now, all we know is that the Challenge will be happening and that there will be a change.
Like many of us, I've done a bit of prep already and worried - albeit briefly. But I have confidence that the organisers - as fellow bloggers - wouldn't do anything which would have a negative impact on any advance preparation.
So, I'm intrigued now ...
Roll on Monday the 6th!
Let's get this Challenge going!
